Alessandro Annunziata was born in Rome in 1968. He graduated with honors in Literature and Philosophy, majoring in Musicology, from the University of Rome "La Sapienza," with a thesis on eighteenth-century Neapolitan musical theater. He also studied piano and composition at the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia with various teachers, continuing and perfecting his musical education independently. He combined classical and contemporary repertoire with personal and independent exploration of popular music, especially that of the Mediterranean and European regions. His encounter with the Greek composer (naturalized Italian) Dimitri Nicolau (Keratea 1946 - Rome 2008) was crucial to his artistic development. With him, he shared and deepened his understanding of music as a human relationship and communication, experienced as a continuous and inexhaustible search for the emotional and imaginative expression of one's own identity and human reality.
For several years, he worked in musicology, journalism, teaching, and music promotion at private institutions and public schools. He wrote music-related radio programs for Vatican Radio, was a music consultant for RAI, and was a programming director for the cultural channel RaiSat 1 (from 1996 to 1999), for which he oversaw the television broadcasts of operas and concerts. From 1999 to 2013, he was editor and editorial coordinator of the prestigious "Nuova Rivista Musicale Italiana," published by RaiEri.
